CraftingTuesday 5

This week they made wind socks. I had the idea in my head for them to do windsocks for the 4th of July. I thought I would just use ribbon or strips of red, white, and blue fabric. But when I went looking for the fabric I found some that was supposed to be used to make small flags and it was a nylon type fabric. I thought well it will last longer than cotton fabric like I was going to buy and would be cute to actually be flags. I cut the pieces apart for them Banna and I glued a casing at the top of each strip. I cut pieces of wire to length and bent one end of it. They threaded the pieces on and we connected the ends of the wire and formed a circle. Then I put fishing line on them to hang them up. As you can see from the pictures Jake and Banna hung theirs up themselves.
Banna working on her wind sock.
Will working on his.
Keenan working on his.
Jake working on his.
With the finished projects. With Banna being silly.
Jake hanging his. He told me I want it high up in that tree. So I told him that was fine if he could hang it himself. So like the monkey he is, he went up the tree and hung it.
Then of course Banna had to hang hers all by herself.
Bannas blowing in the wind.

Crafting Tuesday 3

Some how I missed putting this one up so I am backtracking pictures from the 3rd week are on my Flickr site Crafting Tuesday 3. They did wooden items to color with markers. The boys did dinosaurs and Banna did a TinkerBell.

Crayon Play

So a Glitter Sister suggested a new creation theme, doing something with melted crayons. Well it just so happened I had ran across Encaustic painting with colored wax and a travel iron. Now I didn't have a travel iron but I thought why not one of the small craft irons. So that and crayons is what I have been playing with. This is so much fun. You never know quite what you are going to end up with. Every time you add a new color it changes how the last colors look. See some of the results below. As always you can click the pictures for a larger view.
This one is 9x12 This one is 3x5 Jamie says she sees a phoenix in it. This was just 2 pinks done together it is 2.5x3.5 This one is 5x7 This one I did 3 with the same colors of course they all turned out different. But the kids all wanted one so I did 3 in these colors for the boys and one with pinks for Banna all were 3x5. This is Bannas it is really more pink.

Wreck This Journal Week 4

To check out all the others go here. This week I decorated the cover.
I added to the random things page.
This is the page that went in the wash. Not much left of it.
I drew this while on my swing by my pond.
Stamps from my mail this week. The stamp with LisaOceanDreamers art on it is the coolest thing ever. Pocket Lint. I don't have much since I don't wear many clothes with pockets.
Some days I just want to yell back at them. And on occasion I do. But this was not one of those days.
My YDD did this page for me. First she dunked the page in my pond, then she put it in dirt and dropped a big rock on it. Banna took it for the walk in our neighborhood and I took pictures. As we were leaving for the walk Banna said people are going to look at me like I am crazy. But it will be fun. For the swinging I swung it and Banna took pictures. Do you see the silly boy in the background. He is always wearing those Harley boots, doesn't matter what else he has on. Here I played with my new craft iron and crayons.

CED for a month

Hope you all had a great Summer Solstice. Below is my fire I had in honor of it tonight.
This is the flag I made for the GPS Prayer Flag swap. They are all beginning to come in and it is such fun seeing the different ways they were all done. Can't wait to have them all and hang them to flutter in the wind. This is the ATC I made for the ATC swap I was in at Coach Creative Space. It stretched the boundaries of ATC in it's thickness. I has the insides of one of those led tealights so it lights up as well as having the yellow painted on so it appears to be lit even if not. Below are the 2 paintings I did for YDD's room. They both have the same colors on them, the color in the pictures are closer to true in the first picture. I also like the design of the first one best.

Wreck This Journal week 3

This one was a fun one to do.... The lines are from the fat and thin lines on the other side showing through...
SoSo
Well of course if I had to play with glue then there had to be glitter. Pomegranate love the taste and smell. This page has body lotion and air freshener. Every time you open the book you can smell it. Started anyway.I liked doing this one.
Fun with a razor knife. Both my hands instead of just one. The paint pen I used made my fingers look fat. But oh well. The ladybug is really a tat on my hand and the green nails were done with my favorite of the moment finger nail polish. What the edges looked like after decorating them.
It is being to look well worn and loved. Don't ya think?
Then last today I took a picture of it leaving the hardware store after buying a new circuit breaker for the house. It took about a 50 mile round trip for that item. Also got to go out to lunch. DH held it up for me while I took the picture.
